The Kitewing Mach 3.8 was developed for the shorter riders and for the hard wind enthusiasts. The wing has a 90 cm smaller wingspan than the IV8 and RAGE 55, which makes the handling easier for shorter persons. The wing is also fun for the heavier riders in extreme conditions, such as over 20 m/s winds on a slippery surface.
What is a kitewing:
Kitewing is a wing shaped kite. Many people call it “the wing” for short, just because of its shape. You can use Kitewing with your skis, snowboard, mountainboard, skates or in-line skates etc. Many say it is like a mix of kite surfing and wind surfing.
Most riders learn to cruise with the wing in half an hour. At the same time there seems to be no limit to the amazing jumps and tricks that are being developed by many keen riders around the globe at the moment: Speeds up to 100 km/h (62 mp/h) and 5 m high, 40 m long jumps on flat surface are not unusual.
Kitewing Sports Ltd. believe that the combination of it being easy and challenging at the same time is the reason for the rapidly growing popularity of this new action sport.
Why choose the kitewing:
- economical since one size covers several kite or windsurfing rig sizes
- easy and fast to learn the basics
- very safe to learn and use even in crowded areas
- no hassle with lines and no assistance needed to launch in any weather conditions
- lot of challenge: new tricks are invented all the time
- easy to transport: not bigger than a ski bag
- perfect control: easier to make extreme tricks
- big variety of riding grounds: it is a sport for all seasons
- it’s fast and it’s fun

Kitewing History
The first Kitewings were designed only about ten years ago by two fellows, Sami Tuurna and Carl-Magnus Fogelholm.
Originally the wing was designed for cruising on ice but at the end of the 90’s a group of young snowboarders and extreme skiers tested the Kitewing. They found out the wing was perfectly suited for making jumps and tricks. Equipped with the new gear, it was not only possible to ride on practically any flat surface powered by the wind, but it was also fun and exciting.
Wing riding started as a winter sport but today it is equally popular for summer use. The number of Kitewing riders is increasing fast and there are now dealers in almost forty countries.
