ION Rave Wing Foiling Harness

The Wing Foil harness game is being taken to the next level by the ION Rave once again. This harness is designed with a soft version in mind, featuring a fully molded EVA shell that is not water absorbent. The EVA padding on the inside ensures a highly comfortable wearing experience.

The lightweight design of the harness includes a movable hook, making it easy to paddle out and allowing for riding in a switch stance.

One of the key benefits of the Rave is its ability to relieve pressure on the forearms, reducing fatigue and enabling longer sessions on the water. Additionally, the leash can be attached directly to the harness, and the hook can be slid to the side when paddling.

Weighing only 700 grams, the Rave is ultra-lightweight, ensuring that you only notice it when you're actually using it.

The entry and exit process is quick and simple, thanks to two spring-loaded buckles securing a smooth 25mm wide webbing, which feels similar to a car seatbelt. This webbing runs through the spreader pad and hook and can be easily replaced. The spreader pad has substantial tabs on both sides, fitting snugly into the rear hardshell, providing a secure and integrated locked-in feeling while wearing the harness.

The front hook system is innovative, incorporating two lengths of shock cord to align the hook centrally when not loaded. This allows for more comfortable twisting of the body for improved upwind performance, for example. The hook can slide approximately six inches left or right along its webbing over a lightly EVA padded composite spreader bar pad. Additionally, there is an option to run the webbing through extra slots in the back pad and lock it centrally, as well as removing the bungees to allow the hook to slide freely without self-centering. The composite backplate, while thin and minimal in profile, provides remarkable stiffness. It features soft, highly textured, and grippy EVA foam that securely attaches to a wetsuit. The padding also includes a central gap vertically to accommodate the spine. The non-water absorbent foam helps keep the weight of the harness around 700 grams, even when wet.

The front hook is a wide injection molded bar made from a blend of 30% carbon and plastic. It has a wide mouth, making it extremely easy to get in and out of the harness loop. The soft-edged composite construction and its ability to articulate should reduce the likelihood of damaging your board in case of an accident.

At the rear, a PU tube spans horizontally, similar to a kite handle pass system, making it a great place to attach a board leash or possibly indicating a potential direction for wing freestyle.
